Those living in Seattle are still morning the loss of losing the Seattle Sonics basketball team back in 2008. Fortunately, while the city is still strategizing on how to create a new basketball team (and where they would play for that matter) we still have a number of other sports teams to root for. Here are some bried descriptions of who they are and where they play.
Seattle Seahawks Home games played at CenturyLink Field 800 Occidental Ave. S. Seattle, WA 98134
The Seahawks joined the NFL back in 1976 when the team used at the play the King Dome. The Hawks are the only NFL franchise based in the Pacific Northwest which helps to explain why they are hugely popular with the “12th Man” fans. The Seahawks have won 10 division titles and three conference championships, they are the only team to have played in both the AFC and NFC Championship Games and have appeared in three Super Bowls. The fans have set the record twice for “loudest crowd noise at a sporting event” by Guinness World Records. Today, the team plays at CenturyLink Field which opened in 2002 and in the same spot as the former King Dome. It features 68,000 seats, a roof that covers about 70 percent of the seats. Interesting to note: the newer facility features 63 restrooms (twice as many of the old King Dome), over 800 TVs, 50 concession/beer stands and a 6,500-space parking lot.

For years the team played in the King Dome along with Seattle Seahawks, but the Mariners received their own stadium in 1999. Safeco Field is beautiful improvement over the King Dome that features a retractable roof (which serves more like a giant umbrella), 47,943 seats, an extensive food selection including items not usually found in ballparks (like sushi, burritos, pad Thai, crepes and even seasoned crickets!), some beautiful artwork on display, the Baseball Museum of the Pacific Northwest, Mariners Hall of Fall, the Children’s Hospital Playfield and more.

"One of their team members stopped by my house on Lake Sammamish just two days before my property was to be sold at auction. I told them that I was under water and couldn’t sell. He insisted that I speak with Ky DeWald and Adam Mickelson to see if there was anything that could be done. I finally agreed. They were able to not only stop my auction and get me another 90 days in my house but also put over $125,000.00 in my pocket and sold my house for $1,550,000.00!!! I couldn’t be happier!!! Thanks guys for all the help!"
